Urban producer named in prestigious food award - The Courier Mail

“A Queensland business that turns empty space into urban farms has been named a finalist in one of the nation’s most prestigious food awards. Toowong-based Future Wild, which transforms rooftops and footpaths into edible gardens, was one of four Queensland producers to be named national finalist in this years delicious. Harvey Norman Produce Awards.

Owner Ellia Guy’s dream was to create streetscapes and cities punctuated by edible gardens and native produce, and she said it was an honour to be recognised. “ I’ve always admired the producers named as finalists in the delicious. Harvey Norman Produce Awards,” she said. “The quality of the produce and dedication of the producers and farmers is always of such an incredibly high level, so it’s an absolute privilege to be named as a finalist this year. “ Previous winners are my absolute food producer heroes, so what an honour to be sitting alongside other incredible finalists this year.”

Finalists from around Australia were judged last week by food industry icons such as Matt Stone and Peter Gilmore, with winners to be announced later in the year in Sydney.” Excerpt from The Courier Mail
