Food has always shaped our interactions and engagement with place, from seasonal availability dictating movement across landscapes to connection with the seasons as crops wax and wane across the year. In our current urban context we have lost connection with these rhythms, and with that the plethora of ways food connects us to local ecology, climate and community. Embedding agriculture back into the heart of civic life unlocks new, regenerative futures that will be essential to thriving communities in the coming century.

Future Wild is an interdisciplinary Brisbane-based practice that reimagines the city's potential to build social-ecological relationships, through the cultivation of nature, biodiversity, and agriculture in urban environments.

Underpinned by three interconnected disciplines - Urban Agriculture, Design, and Ecology - our team’s experience spans across the planning, design, construction, operation and management phases of the projects we undertake. Our team brings together a diversity of perspectives and knowledge from a range of professions including urban agriculture, environmental science, ecology, landscape architecture, psychotherapy, the arts and medicine.
